Regional Chapters

TEI Regional Chapters are professional networks organized by geographic region. They connect economists, researchers, policymakers, and professionals to foster collaboration and advance economic understanding at the regional level.

Regional Director Role

Each regional chapter is led by a Regional Director — an experienced professional who coordinates chapter activities and represents TEI in their region. The appointment is for a 3-year term, renewable based on performance review.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead the regional chapter
  • Organize at least 1 major event per quarter (conferences, workshops, seminars)
  • Build partnerships with regional institutions and organizations
  • Recruit Deputy Coordinators and chapter members
  • Provide input on regional economic developments to TEI editorial team

Eligibility

  • Minimum 5 years professional experience in economics, finance, or policy
  • Established professional network in the target region
  • Track record of organizing professional events or managing teams
  • No existing TEI regional chapter in the area

Deputy Coordinators

Regional Directors may appoint up to 3 Deputy Coordinators to assist with chapter operations. Deputies help organize events, manage communications, and support member engagement within specific sub-regions or thematic areas.


Registered Members

Professionals in any region with an active chapter can join as registered members. Members gain access to regional events, networking opportunities, and collaborative research initiatives. Membership is free and open to all professionals.
